3 ways to speak english

I find this speech by Jamila Lyiscott, "3 ways to speak English" pretty interesting in many ways. She explains her speech in an odd but interesting way. She starts to rap her speech. I see this as a form to grab the audience's attention. She talks about how she has a "tri-lingual identity", in other words she speaks 3 different forms of English. For example, she states that she speaks differently when shes at school, with friends, and at home.

When she's at school she speaks the traditional way of speaking english. For example, "Hello". However, this differs from when she's at school and at home. When she's at home she speaks Caribbean influenced broken english, for example, "Wha kinda ting is dis". Lastly, she speaks like this when she's at school, " What's good with you son?". These all go to show the different types of ways that one can speak English. She says that she's being articulate. not only that, but I think that the main reason why she chose this speak was to go against linguistic diversity being policed, it should be celebrated.

In conclusion, I find her speech very interesting and as soon as the video played it completely grabbed my attention, it is always interesting seeing a speaker do a whole rap on their speech. Even though she only speaks one language, she considers herself a speaker of three tongues. This is because of the three different ways to speak English. All of the different diversities.
